Zafferano was created by the Venetian designer Federico de Majo, who started out in his family's glassworks on Murano. Born and raised in Venice, he learned the historic techniques of glass blowing in the studio of Vetreria De Majo. He then worked in lighting before launching the company in 2001. Zafferano makes tasting glasses and tableware in glass and porcelain, working with master glassblowers, and its range includes rechargeable cordless lamps. Its pieces are designed for everyday use at home and for hotels and restaurants, combining Italian design with function.
