Ex Nihilo was founded in Paris in 2013 by Sylvie Loday, Olivier Royère and Benoît Verdier, three insiders from the luxury world who set out to build a perfume house from scratch, free of convention. The house gives perfumers a Carte Blanche, pairing rare natural materials with biotechnology captives, and draws its aesthetic from 1970s and 1980s French avant-garde design. At flagship locations, the Osmologue system lets clients compose a personalized fragrance, extending the house's belief that perfumery should be an individual experience.
