Maison Margiela

Maison Margiela was founded in Paris in 1988 by Belgian designer Martin Margiela and designer and retailer Jenny Meirens. The house treats the silhouette as a field of study, returning to archive and construction technique rather than embellishment. Its codes include the four stitches, Bianchetto, upcycling, and Replica; since 2012 the house has held official membership in the Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture. Since 2025, Glenn Martens has served as creative director, continuing the house's practice of questioning traditional modes of creativity.
