James Banks Design

James Banks Design is the partnership of goldsmith Heidi Nahser Fink and Adam Shulman, the studio's self-described imagineer. Every piece is made by hand in their Marin County studio in Northern California, mostly from recycled metal. Filings and cuttings from earlier work are melted into ingots and made into new wire, inlay and jump rings. The pair form and pierce metal with hammers, stakes and saws, set precious stones in hand pavé, and finish each surface with a hand-burring technique of their own that gives the jewelry an antique feel.
