Gigi Burris

Gigi Burris's hats trace to her training under milliner Leah Chalfen at Parsons School of Design in New York. She later launched her eponymous label, bringing couture millinery craft into contemporary headwear. Each piece is made by hand in New York City using hand blocking on wooden blocks, a centuries-old shaping technique, alongside couture featherwork, handmade florals from a dedicated atelier, and individually placed crystals. Materials include feathers, flowers, alligator skins and silk ribbons, continuing a focus on traditional hatmaking techniques.
