Liis was founded in California by Alissa Sullivan, trained at the perfumery school ISIPCA in Versailles, and Leslie Hendin, a designer and self-taught perfumer, after a friendship that began years after the two grew up minutes apart, both collecting perfume as children. The house treats each composition as a minimalist study in personal memory and emotion, left open to the wearer's own interpretation rather than fixed to a theme, and formulated with organic sugarcane alcohol.
