The Harmonist is built on Feng Shui, the Chinese philosophy that reads existence through five elements, water, fire, wood, metal and earth, paired with the forces of yin and yang. Lola Tillyaeva, who trained in perfumery and Feng Shui, founded the house in 2013. Working with French perfumer Guillaume Flavigny, the house translates each element into a distinct composition tied to its properties. Its flagship opened on Avenue George V, Paris, in 2016, the first maison de parfum built around a personalized reading of elemental energy.
