Founded in Berlin in 1995, at a time the house describes as a reunited city bursting with creative energy, gestalten publishes illustrated books on the contemporary movements that shape how people live, build and design. Its list explores material innovation, urban culture, independent hospitality and craft revival. The house also runs teNeues, an imprint known for photography books and illustrated editions, and Little Gestalten for children. Its books are printed on FSC certified paper and rest on a belief in the power of images, ideas and printed books.
