Named for a night recalled from downtown Manhattan after midnight in 1996, Nocturnality opens on latex and neoprene leather before settling into black shoe shine, hydrocarboresin and styrax, an accord built around the city's leather-bar nightlife. Arquiste hand-pours the candle in a soy wax blend with a cotton wick for a long, slow burn.

- Allow the wax to melt completely across the surface during the first burn, about two hours.
- Burn for no more than three hours at a time thereafter.
