ANNA New York
Product designer Anna Rabinowicz founded her home brand in 2002 in her grandmother's basement in Queens. Trained as part artist and part engineer, she holds master's degrees in engineering and art from Stanford University and went on to teach product design there and at Parsons School of Design. Her interest in nature-inspired, biomorphic design shapes the objects of ANNA New York, which pair ancient, precious materials such as agate, quartz and crystal with modern design. The first piece was a set of agate gemstone coasters, finished by her mother and grandmother.
