Akua Objects was founded in 2022 in Copenhagen by Annika Zobel Agerled and Josefine Arthur with a vision to create glassware as poetic objects. Akua Objects embarked on a journey to redefine the essence of tableware, infusing each designed piece with a soulful narrative and an exquisite aesthetic.

Named after Annika's second son, the Noam collection emerged serendipitously while designing the Alban collection. Rooted in centuries-old tradition, wedding favors are said to have originated among the French aristocracy, who would present crystal trinket boxes filled with confections, known as bonbonnieres, to their guests. At that time, sugar was a rare luxury, symbolizing affluence and royalty.
